In case of smell of gas the followings are the very first actions you have to take:

- Turn off the gas valve by the gas meter. This is normaly located before and close to the gas meter.
- Open the windows and create a good ventillation in the area you smelled gas.     
- Do not smoke or make any naked flame or spark.
- Call Transco gas emergency service on 0800 111 999 and report the smell of gas.
